“Life is amazing. And then it's awful. And then it's amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it's ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary.”

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate License #10536

I strongly believe in the power of acknowledging what we have and celebrating our inherent strengths. Through this process, my clients uncover inner resources, gain insight, and foster a deeper understanding of themselves — leading to lasting growth and a more fulfilled life.

Training and Approach

Shelly graduated with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina. Shelly is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and is practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) under supervision as she fulfills the requirements for full licensure in South Carolina. She completed her practicum and internship at the Prisma Adult Day Treatment Center in Greenville, SC.

Therapy with Shelly is both science-informed and deeply human. She emphasizes the role of neuropsychology in understanding mental health, using this lens to conceptualize each client’s unique experiences. Furthermore, this perspective supports a holistic stance by honoring the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Her work is integrative and collaborative, drawing from evidence-based approaches including, but not limited to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy, mindfulness, and psychoeducation. Together, therapy becomes a supportive space for reflection, growth, and change at a pace that feels sustainable and true to you.
